About Us
The farm is situated in the south-western part of Botswana; about 30 km from the southern boundary of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and about 80 km due south from Mmabuasehube. The farm boasts with diverse scenery, ranging from sandy dunes which provide for a breathtaking 360˚ view of the surrounding area, to grassy areas, pans and areas densely populated with beautiful trees. Spectacular camel thorn trees are also in abundance, decorating our skyline.
What makes the farm even more picturesque is the opportunity to spot our beautiful and bountiful game around ever twist and over every dune. At night time you will be able to experience another magnificent sight: the glorious night sky. At Phirima the clarity and abundance of stars is not obscured by city lights, allowing you to view the stars the way they have been for millennia past, their beauty breathtaking. The sides of the farm are about 19 km x 10 km, allowing our game 16 500 ha of grazing. Phirima boasts with a wide range of indigenous wild, including Gemsbok, Kudus, Blue wildebeest, Red hartebeest, Elands, Springbok, Steenbok, duikers, ostriches, brown hyenas, jackals, baboons and honey badgers.
We have introduced many new species to Phirima to increase our diversity. These include White Rhinoceros, Giraffes, Impalas, Waterbuck, Zebras and Warthogs. Some of Botswana’s more exotic wildlife has also been spotted on Phirima. From time to time free roaming lions, leopards and cheetahs have dug their way into Phirima’s sanctuary. During 2012, four lions and two leopards roamed in Phirima. Phirima Game Ranch gives you the opportunity to experience Africa at its core; unspoiled and boundless. So, if you want to experience nature in its truest form, this is where you need to be.

Accommodation
Cabin Camp
This is a luxury self-catering campsite that is laid out in a horse shoe shape against the side of a dune. The camp overlooks one of our watering holes, where animals can frequently be spotted. The campsite consists of two cabins for guests. The one cabin has 4 single beds, while the other cabin has a double bed with two single beds. There is a communal bathroom build specifically and uniquely to allow our guests to enjoy nature while enjoying a hot shower.
The hot water comes from a boiler in which a fire is made, also known as a donkey. The luxury kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, fridge and freezer, but more importantly, boasts with a wall to wall window overlooking the watering hole - being in a kitchen has never been so scenic. Next to the kitchen is a lapa that guests can use as a venue for meals, or just relax in. In the center of the horse shoe, is the braai (barbeque) area. Many hunting stories have been told around this fireplace. The stars are always spectacular from around the fire, snuggled in silence, apart from animal noises. To ensure the unspoiled nature of our farm, all the facilities are equipped with solar power.
Boma Camp
The hunting camp consists of two facilities, which can be used together or separately: a cabin, or a self-service camping area.
Cabin
This cabin has two rooms, each with its own bathroom (toilet, shower and basin) and a thatched deck and a thatched carport. There is a little outside kitchen that is equipped with cutlery, pots, fridge – everything you need to prepare a meal. The cabin has its own braai (barbeque) area as well.
Campsite
The second facility is the boma (a camp encircled by a waist-high stick fence) where hunters can camp. This is a self-service camping area for those who prefer to sleep in their own tents. There is a lapa,braai (barbeque) area and running water in the boma. The communal bathroom is located close to the campsite and also has facilities for washing dishes and clothes. Close to that there is a “kuiergat” (amphitheater in the sand). Located on the dune closest the campsite, there is a braai (barbeque) spot where sundowners can be enjoyed while enjoying a panoramic view over the watering hole, watching game drink lazily.
Springbok Pan Houses
This accommodation is the personal houses of the two shareholders. In extreme cases, the accommodation can be made available to guests, depending on the situation.

Game Viewing
The farm has a nice variety of sceneries that make game viewing a pleasant experience. It is sand veldt with dunes where you can always expect herds of game on the other side of the dune. Some of these dunes provide for a breathtaking 360˚ view. Plenty white pans will be found as well. The vegetation varies from very small grass polls in the bear sand to areas with high grass and areas with a lot of bushes and beautiful trees. Spectacular camel thorn trees are on the order of the day.
These variations in landscapes and sceneries allow us to farm with a wide range of game that adapted very well to the Kalahari. The species that we introduced are White Rhinoceros, Giraffe, Gemsbok, Kudu, Blue wildebeest, Red hartebeest, Eland, Impala, Springbok, Waterbuck, Zebra and Warthog. Other indigenous species that are on the farm are duiker, ostriches, brown hyena, jackal, baboons, and honey badgers amongst others. From time to time free roaming lions, leopards and cheetahs are digging holes through which they come into the farm. During 2012 four Lion killings and two Leopard killings were recorded. It all boils down to the tranquillity and the unspoildness of the Kalahari (Tswana word is Kgalagadi) that the visitors are experiencing. The Kalahari has its own unique attraction that can be found nowhere else in the world.
