Based in the picturesque town of Murraysburg, situated at the foot of the Sneeuberg mountain range in the Western Cape, South Africa. We have access to more than 30 concession areas in the Karoo, Garden Route, Eastern and Northern Cape regions. The areas we operate in are all Malaria free.
Due to a history of service excellence and commitment, we are renowned for attracting clients that share the same passion for nature and hunt alike. Hattingh Safaris is fully licensed in the Western and Eastern Cape as professional hunters and outfitters.

Accommodation In The Peaceful Karoo
Kick back after a day´s hunting or wingshooting in a typical old-world Great Karoo town,tiny Murraysburg.
Cuddled in the lee of hills set in picturesque surroundings. It lies in a scenic mix of mountains and plains that compliments the beautiful old houses and enormous vegetable gardens watered by creaking windmills.
Hattingh Safaris retreat is in an original historic house,build in 1911,which is now elegantly furnished with furniture of days gone by,your home for the duration of your stay.
Relive the excitement of the day next to a fireplace in the company of this beautiful old house and dine on traditional South African dishes and International cuisine complimented with fine South African wine.

Karoo Hunting
We specialise in tailor-made packages to suit your personal needs. Contact us for our "Bonanza Hunts" and you will be surprised at how affordable a African hunt can be.
The Karoo is our main hunting area because of the abundance of plains game. The variation in topography and vegetation will test your hunting skills to the fullest. Our concessions contains fynbos on the coastal belt and moves inland to the ragged mountains of the Karoo to semi-dessert structures combined with savannahs and plateaus.
We also have sporting / management hunts which the aim is to hunt for below trophy size, female and or broken horn animals. 10 species are available and can be walk & stalk hunted or drive / beat hunts for a large group of hunters that prefer to hunt together.
Sporting animals are subject to availability.
Wingshooting
Different opportunities are on offer for the serious wing shooter and vary from geese / duck over decoys to the Greywing Francolin over dogs high up in the mountains.
All wingshootings offered by Hattingh Safaris is conducted on natural breeding birds from which only a sustainable number is taken.
The less-serious shooter is more than welcome, particularly for a relaxing hunt after a few days of hunting plains game.
Fly Fishing
South Africa offers a diverse selection of freshwater and saltwater fly-fishing.
Relax and appreciate the closeness of nature as you fly-fish for yellow fish, bass or trout in the dams and rivers of the Karoo, or hunt the elusive Garrick and Grunther in the estuaries of the Garden Route.
Or enjoy the beautiful beaches of the South coast for a off-shore fly-fishing adventure.
